KA Series 1Vpp Sine/Cosine Magnetic Encoders Offer Affordable Solutions

Admotec Inc. has introduced the new RoHS compliant KA Series 1Vpp sine/cosine output magnetic encoders. Ideal for spindle feedback, industrial tachometers and servo motors, KA encoders provide high performance in measurement and feedback applications where optical encoders don’t work or don’t last.

KA sine/cosine magnetic encoders are available in two standard configurations and can also be fully customized for special applications.

Series KAL encoders operate with a large air gap (1.5mm) between wheel and sensor allowing easy, non-critical “plug and play” assembly to motor or machinery. Common binary, angular, and decimal resolutions up to 256 CPR are available on a wide range of wheel diameters up to 250mm. Series KAS encoders offer improved performance with higher accuracy and resolution, but operate with a smaller air gap (0.3mm) between wheel and sensor. Common binary, angular, and decimal resolutions up to 720 CPR are available on a variety of wheel diameters up to 229mm.

In addition to these standard products, Series KA encoders can be customized with features such as low voltage operation, custom wheel features, alternate output signal formats and axial instead of radial air gap.

All KA encoders operate effectively in harsh environments since they are magnetic rather than optical and are immune to dust, dirt, oil, water and other contaminants. The rugged construction and non-contact design tolerate high vibration, shock, wear and aging.

Typical applications include machine synchronization, AC and DC servo motors, angle measurement, position/speed display for test and measurement, and motor feedback.
